For the first time in 44 years, Sir Paul McCartney visited the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City! In his first appearance on Letterman and his first trip back (since September 1965) to the very place that helped make him famous in the States (thanks to a little variety show on CBS), they put him up on the Late Show marquee to perform a few songs for the adoring public, lining the street.
