The penultimate season of Denis Leary’s groundbreaking comedic drama Rescue Me premieres next week on FX (all final 20 episodes have been filmed – they’re making two seasons out of it, with the last episodes airing in time with the 10th anniversary of 9/11).
To mark the occasion, series creators Leary and Peter Tolan invite you to look back at the eloquent language that helps make Rescue Me such a unique highbrow television event:

In this recession, more and more formerly high-class shopping centers are dumping Nordstrom’s, Linens N Things, and Champs…and replacing them with Ross (the clothing store version of Big Lots).

Remember when Mashup videos were all the rage…well they’re back.

Here’s an interesting Op-Ed about the future and what we may have to deal with as we get there. It came from a favorite site of mine called grinding.be which is basically a tumbler of the emerging future. If someone creates HUD contact lenses or a dancing robot it’ll be on there before most other places.
And, if my initial realization held any water – it wasn’t looking good for Team Humans.

Here’s the new video from OK GO’s song “End Love”. These guys are almost the only interesting thing happening in music videos, plus they have great music too. Maybe if there was a channel that played only music videos people would put more effort into it. Or turn it into a teen reality show dump. Either or.
