If you haven’t heard anything yet about FOX News‘s nutjob-du-jour, then you haven’t been watching the news lately at all. Apparently he’s become so popular, err controversial, err shameless, that whatever stunt he pulls next is considered newsworthy. I remember seeing this guy on Headline News a few years ago and wondering, “Why did they ever give this guy a show? He’s Nuts!” Apparently, somebody at FOX said “Why didn’t we give this guy a show? He’s Nuts!” – and now he’s got one of the most buzzed-about programs on their network. Gotta love America!

To understand why Beck is so crazy, you have to understand where he’s coming from. He’s a self-professed comedian, so even he understands he’s not a journalist. He’s also a former heroin addict and alcoholic with a high school education (he dropped out of a non-traditional program at Yale after only one class) who went back to his Mormon roots after ridding his demons. Not that there’s anything wrong with a little drug addiction; after all, much of his audience get their news from a comedian who’s still ON drugs!

Sadly, the saddest part about Glenn Beck is his recent diagnosis with ODS, or Obama Derangement Syndrome. He, like many other cable news commentators, are convinced that repealing the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy and regulating industries that have asked the government for taxpayer dollars is somehow going to implode society, at which point Obama will become a fascist ruler with an iron fist. Oh, and he’s going to take our precious sub-machine guns and glocks away from us! Get back on the wagon, Glenn.
